The Frozen Palace, or Royal Palace,[1][2] is a dungeon in Gillfolk's Drop. The Kid fights King Angler's cursed corpse and obtains the Emblem of Ocean here.

History[]

Before the Catastrophe, the Gillfolk living in Gollfolk's Grotto also have a palace, as after Ootheca is destroyed, Princess Fin carries the Emblem of Ocean there. After King Angler's death, a mysterious figure delivers a mourning gift.[3] When Princess Fin places it at her dead fathers feet, the whole palace, including herself and one other Gillman, is frozen.[4]

The remaining Gillfolk, that once inhabited the Uncharted Seas, were driven into their subterranean lair by Oceanhorn. They have been waiting for an opportunity to save their beloved princess ever since.

Kid arrives on the island in hopes to find the Emblem of Ocean. After having obtained the Fire Spell, the Kid can unfreeze the entrance to the Frozen Palace. Inside he discovers a Gillfolk treasure: the Trencher Boots. He proceeds to free Princess Fin from her curse and defeats the dead King Angler. Princess Fin is willing to hand over the Emblem of Ocean to the Kid if it means an end to Oceanhorn's terror of the seas.

He can always return later on, to collect more treasures.
