Direfolk War Breakdown
I'm going to create some maps and detail the dynamics of the Direfolk War.
Red line: Direfolk path
Blue line: Arcadian soldier path
Blue outline: Currently Arcadian territory
Red outline: Currently Direfolk territory
With the Direfolk Army defeated, Master Mayfair, Theo and Corbin move in to kill Shadowmaga. They slip into the Citadel and fight Shadowmaga, with Theo killing him and yoinking his mask.
Thoughts on this? Do you think it's accurate? Should we include some of the maps on the page for a visual representation of the war?
Glitch Encyclopedia
Below is an incomplete list of glitches discovered by PenguinBird (talk).
- 1 Duplication Glitches
- 1.1 Heal Spell Duping
- 2 Visual Glitches
- 2.1 Mid-air spell freeze
- 2.2 Goofy Caster Gun
- 3 Other
- 3.1 Sernoa Overlook Skip
===Caster Gun Did you see what I did there? When the first shot of the Ammo Spell fired, I opened the Radial Menu, or item wheel. I then selected the Fire Spell, which tricks the game into thinking I’m using the Fire Spell, not the Ammo Spell. It depletes 1 Ammo from me, but I’m really shooting multiple fireballs.

What do the Gods actually say?
So, we all know that the Gods speak to the Kid when the collects the corresponding emblem. We also know that what they audibly say is a whole bunch of jibberish. I've done my best to transcribe the first two Gods onto paper, but there is some inconsistency.
- 1 What does Neyto actually say?
- 2 What does Sol actually say?
- 3 Footnotes
We know that according subtitles, Neyto says the following:
"Champion - I am Neyto, the goddess of fire and earth, the source of joy and regeneration. Evil Spirit Mesmeroth tricked me into these dark shackes. But now I’m free to start the reconstruction of the world. Wherever you go, I'll travel by your side."
I looked over my clips, and transcribed a rough paper version of what she audibly says:
"Bana wuyou riugu zishe nini ak…
Question Catalogue
These are all the questions that I can think of regarding Oceanhorn lore. This does NOT include unpromted questions like "Who was this Shopkeeper's mother?" or "Why did this note of paper survive a thousand years?" or "Why is Arne under water but Faroah not when both lie at sea level in OH2?", because they are irrelevant or serve gameplay/story purposes or are neccessary/forgotten lore corrections. At least to me. xD
Sorted by topic.
- If Mesmeroth wanted to stop Archimedes... why did he not just kill him? What is one murder against the destruction of the world?
- Why did he wait twenty years to confront Archimedes like that? In a 100% last minute action? I understand it takes time to build an army but ... still...
- Why did Mesmeroth not lay hands o…
The Beacons
Here I’m going to speculate about the Beacons and their purpose, as well as other beacon-related theories.
- 1 List of Beacons
- 1.1 Major
- 1.2 Minor
- 1.3 Unknown status
- 2 My beacon theories
- 2.1 Why are Direfolk so cognitively undeveloped?
- 2.2 Origins of the Grand Core
- 2.3 Why did the Fourth Beacon crash?
- 3 Footnotes
- Arcadia Beacon, Source
- Cocoon, Pirta
- Ootheca, Submeria
- Arne Beacon, Valley of the Warden
- Faroah Beacon, Faroah?
- Outlands Beacon: The Source monoliths show three major beacons (Arcadia, Cocoon and Ootheca) but would this one be considered major because a race spawned because of it?
Alright, so we all know the story: The Ancients, from the Lunar Tear, used TRILOTH to terraform the planet, then sent them down to create the four major races. Out of the four rac…
Are these things really magic?
Alright, I'm here to clarify if these topics are really magic, as they are referred to in the series.
- 1 TRILOTH
- 2 Is the Caster Gun really magic?
- 3 Notes and Comments
I don't see TRILOTH as a spell. Reason being, it is simply energy leftover from the terraforming process of Gaia. The spell itself is the powers that Mesmeroth used to control TRILOTH, not summon/cast it. About the TRILOTH spell from OH1, I think that the Bloodstone Collector is a mage who went to the Arcadia Ruins and gathered up the remaining energy that was left over from the Catastrophe, and found a way to control it.
The Caster Gun is referred to as a "masterpiece of Arcadian magic", but I think this is inaccurate. It transmutes natural materials found in the environment and conve…
My theories
All my fan theories are collected on this page, excluding some of my beacon-related theories that are in a seperate blog.
- 1 Shadow Mesmeroth = The Shadow + Mesmeroth
- 2 The Great Chronicler is from Source
- 3 Paradigm Hourglass used in Knights of the Lost Realm?
- 4 The Sacred Emblems power The Living Fortresses
- 5 Shadowmaga never died
Well, this one is relatively clear and common. The main antagonist of MOUS is Shadow Mesmeroth. In the cutscene within the Grand Core where Mesmeroth confronted Archimedes, you can see the Shadow's eyes in Mesmeroth's Anima Orb, leading to Shadow-Mesmeroth.
In one of the houses in Source, two documents can be found called "Rodgar's Memo". They cover the Streams of Creation and whatnot, but the connection is in the Great Chro…
More about THEO
I found something interesting when thinking more about THEO and why it's on the Anima Orb. I do not know if the following facts are further clues as to whether THEO is Mesmeroth's old name or Hero's name BUT... in either case, it's something cool to think about.
- 1 The Meaning of Theo
- 2 THEO (a proposed spacecraft mission)
- 3 There is More
- 4 Yet, we still have no real answer
- 4.1 References
The name Theo comes from the greek theos (θεός), which means god. This can of course support either of three things:
- Shadow-Mesmeroth in OH1 aims to be resurrected as a "god". I am not necessarily a fan of names reflecting story relevant elements but you could argue, given that Chronos decides all fates, he makes Mesmeroth's mother chose that name in a cruel expression o…
Thoughts on THEO
- 1 Could THEO be Mesmeroth's real name?
- 1.1 Evidence
- 1.2 Pro - Argumentation
- 1.3 Contra - Argumentation
- 2 Conclusion
Up until now it never occured to me that THEO might be Mesmeroth's real name, rather than the Hero's. For the same reason that I am not certain that it is, or at least, struggle to find it as obvious and clear cut as some other might.
What evidence is used to support this theory?
- 1 - The Anima Orb through which Hero is born, carries the name THEO.
- 2 - The Anima Orb appearing in Mesmeroth's stead, shows lettering that matches the word THEO minus all the horizontal bars and parts.
- 3 - Mesmeroth says: "I had already traveled across Gaia during the war, and what I had seen in Pirta and read from the books in Source ignited my supressed curiosit…
New Navigation Suggestions
Since I might be updating the navigation of this Wiki, I thought I'd share what I had in mind beforehand. That way this can be reviewd and challenged and I have a few more days to wrap my head around it and make changes.
At the moment we have 3 games taking place in the same universe. We have 4 menu bar spaces available so I will settle for:
In each section can be 7 menu items. In each of these can be again, another 10. Not every single page can be placed into the main navigation. Not all menu items will have their own website, and some are simply a list of things, possibly with more links to the actual pages. This is wip and some details might have escaped my brain! xD
I am not yet certain about this navigation, somehow some important things…
Essential lists completed
Today I've completed the following articles:
- List of Treasure Chest Locations
- List of Heart Pieces Locations
- List of Bloodstone Locations
Hope these help the players of Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas ;-)
